Dear families,

Sleepover at Winchester Science Centre – Thursday 22^nd May 2025

We are very excited to invite the Year 4 children to a sleepover at Winchester Science Centre. The children who are attending will spend a normal Thursday at school on the 22^nd May 2025. They will need to return to the school office at 4:30pm, where we will meet in the hall as a year group. On Friday 23^rd May 2025, the children will need to be collected from the school by 10:30am. The children who attend this trip will not be required to attend school for the remainder of the day on this Friday.

We have planned a variety of exciting activities for the evening, including exploring the exhibits and watching a movie in the planetarium. A warm drink and biscuit will be provided for the children in the evening. The children will also be provided with breakfast (cereal and a drink) in the morning and they will experience a planetarium show.

Children will need to bring a sleeping bag which needs to be brought in a large bag/black sack, roll mat (where possible), pyjamas, wash bag, book, a change of clothing, cuddly toy (if desired), small hand towel and they should wear sensible shoes.  Please also provide your child with a water bottle they can use to refill for the night. These items should be placed in a small holdall or rucksack. In line with our Safeguarding Policy, we would politely request that children do not bring any mobile phones or electronic devices on this occasion: this includes Smart watches with access to online games. If your child has regular medication, please let their class teacher know and sign the required permission form.

Children will also need to bring a packed tea for the Thursday evening in a named bag. You may also like to provide an extra healthy snack for your child if they are likely to get hungry. Please also let us know if your child has any dietary requirements or medical conditions that we need to be aware of.

The total estimated cost for this trip is £59.50.

A non-refundable deposit of £25 will be required to be paid through SCOPAY by Friday 14^th February 2025 to secure your child’s place on this trip.

We recognise this school trip may have an impact on families and if you may be unable to meet the full cost of the school trip or visit, come and see Mr. Cope to arrange a conversation around how we can best support you and your family, something that has always been on offer to all of our families.
