OWLSMOOR PRIMARY SCHOOL - RED NOSE DAY IS BACK! - Friday 17^th March 2023

On Friday 17^th March, we will be holding our very first sponsored walk.  This is always a popular fundraiser and it also allows us to support one of our favourite charities, Comic Relief.  All students will be taking part and the monies raised will be shared equally between Comic Relief and School.

The walk will be around the school grounds and will follow a pre-planned route set out by Mr Stevens and Mr Cope.

As a school, we are hoping to raise enough funds to purchase our very own Athletics track! This will support the children within their PE lessons, Sports Day events and many other activities.

All adults at the school will be taking part and we welcome parents/carers to join us on the walk if you wish to.  The children are encouraged to wear sports clothes on the day and anything linked to comic relief (I already have my t-shirt!).  Please refrain from using hair dye or face paint please on the day 😊. Children will need to bring a change of footwear for the day and a coat in case of bad weather. 

The timings for the event are as follows: -

Year 2 and Year 4                                                                                Start time:           09:15

Nursery 1 / Reception and Year 1                                                   Start time:           10:30

Kingfishers / Nursery 2 and Year 5                                                  Start time:           13:30

Year 3 and Year 6                                                                                Start time:           14:15

Each walker is asked to raise as much sponsorship money as they can, however, any amount of money will make a difference.  A sponsorship form is attached.  For their safety, we would not expect any child to go around their neighbourhood asking for sponsors.  Any sponsorship obtained should be with the full knowledge and consent of parents and carers.

We would kindly ask for the sponsor money with the sponsor form to be in school on Friday 17^th March.  All sponsor money whether cash or cheques (made payable to Owlsmoor Primary School) should be put into an envelope and marked with your child’s name, class, ‘Sponsored Walk’ and the amount of sponsorship enclosed.  Please do not forget that the Sponsor Form must be returned with the money.  All children will be walking a specific route so a one off sponsorship for the event is all that is needed.

If for any medical reason your child is unable to participate, I would be grateful if you would let the class teacher know in writing and alternative arrangements will be made.
