Dear Parents,

Arts Fortnight:  Tuesday 8^th June – Friday 18^th June 2021

Traditionally, every other year, the children take part in a two-week long arts event. During this fortnight, they explore a range of artists and music, based around a theme.

This year the theme for Arts Fortnight is ‘Through the Decades’ and each year group will be focusing on a different decade, from the 50s through to the present day.

The children will produce work inspired by artists associated with their designated decade, and take part in a performance influenced by the music of the era.

In previous years, parents have been invited into school to watch the year group performances and visit the school hall, where the children’s work has been displayed for everyone to enjoy. However, due to the current Covid 19 restrictions in place, we will be unable to accommodate parents on site this year. We would still like the children to have the opportunity to ‘show off’ all of their wonderful, creative artwork, so we will be uploading a selection of artwork from each year group to the school website for you to enjoy. We would also like to record and send out the year group performances via Microsoft Teams. Each performance will only be sent out to the parents of that year group. Please could you complete the slip below, confirming whether or not you would like your child to take place in the recorded performance and return it to your child’s class teacher by Friday 11^th June.

We are hoping that the children really enjoy the creative freedom of Arts Fortnight.
