BOOK WEEK

Book Week will take place during the week commencing 2^nd March, during which we will celebrate the joy of books and reading.  The teachers have already been busy planning exciting activities for the children to do.  We have also been very fortunate to organise an author visit on Friday 28^th February as a kickstart to our celebrations.  The author is AF Harrold and he has written books including ‘Fizzlebert Stump’, ‘Greta Zargo and the Death Robots’ and ‘The Afterward’.  This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to meet and engage with a real life author and find out about his books. He will also be selling signed copies of his poetry book, ‘Things You Find in a Poet’s Beard’, at a reduced price of £5 (usually £9.99). Please send the money in with your child on the day if they wish to purchase one.

On Friday 6^th March, children are invited to dress up as a book character, author, poet or illustrator with the chance to win a £5 book voucher. In addition, at 2.45pm the gates will be open for a family member to come to the classroom and read with their child or a group of children and see what they have achieved during this week.  If you have more than one child in the school, we suggest you go to the youngest sibling first.  We look forward to seeing you!
