Dear Parents,

Trip to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir on Friday 6^th December 2019

As part of our topic on festivals and our ongoing learning about other religions and cultures, we have organised a visit to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Neasden on Friday 6^th December. We will leave school at approximately 9:15 and return to school by 3:00pm. The children will have an introductory talk about the features of the Mandir and then will visit a prayer service and explore the Mandir and Haveli (prayer hall).

The children will require a packed lunch in a disposable plastic bag.  If you are in receipt of free school meals, please tick the box on the slip below if you would like school to provide a packed lunch.  As with all our visits to places of religious interest, the school will be paying all costs.

The dress code for this visit is school uniform.  There is a strict dress code at the Mandir and they ask that trousers or skirts that come below the knee are worn.  Children will be asked to remove their shoes when they visit.  They will be expected to behave quietly and respectfully, as they would do when visiting any religious building.  If you could talk to your child about this, that would be extremely helpful.

If your child suffers from travel sickness and takes tablets to counteract this, please ensure they have taken their tablet before coming to school and give your child’s class teacher a tablet for the return journey in a named envelope.
