    Friday 24th March

    Dear Parents,

    Trip to British Museum

I am writing to address concerns regarding the upcoming trip to the British Museum on Monday 27th March. Following the events in London on Wednesday I have taken further advice from Bracknell Forest’s Off-site trip supervisor; and have implemented all the recommendations he has requested. These have included an increased staff to pupil ratio and added Miss McAllister our Deputy Headteacher to the staff accompanying the year 4 on the trip. I have also obtained permission from the governing body to go ahead with this trip.

The children will remain under close supervision for the duration of the event; they will move directly from the drop-off point at the front of the museum, into the building, and remain together as a year group inside, as they explore the exhibits. This will allow them to conform to the British Museum’s additional security precautions while still making the most of their time visiting this fantastic learning opportunity.

If you do not wish your child to take part in this trip, they should still attend school on Monday and we will provide alternative learning on that day.

    Yours sincerely,

    E.A Cole

    Headteacher

    Dear Parents

TRIP TO THE BRITISH MUSEUM MONDAY 27TH MARCH

As part of our Ancient Egyptian topic this term, and upcoming topic of Anglo Saxons, Year 4 will be visiting The British Museum in London on Monday 27th March.  We will be specifically exploring the Egyptian and European Galleries. We know that it will be a fantastic and rewarding experience for all and will have a hugely beneficial impact on our learning.

The cost of the trip is for the coach alone, as entry to the gallery is free; the cost per child is £12.50. Payments and permission slips need to be handed in by Wednesday 22nd March.

The coach will be departing from school at 9.15am so the children should arrive at school at the normal time.  However, we will not be leaving London until 3.00pm at the earliest and so will not be back at school before 4.30pm.  If we are going to be significantly later than this due to traffic, we will send a text.

If your child suffers from travel sickness and they take medication for this, please ensure they have taken a tablet before they arrive at school. Please give your child’s class teacher a tablet for the return journey in a named envelope.

If you have any questions or queries about the trip, please do not hesitate to call or contact one of the Year 4 team at the end of the school day.

    Yours sincerely,

Mr Forsaith, Miss Bowden, Mr Horton
