    Dear Parents,

To complement our English topic of Macbeth by William Shakespeare this half-term, we have arranged for a theatre company to come into the school to visit the children in Year 6. The company will be visiting us on Wednesday October 11th 2017.

The children have really enjoyed re-enacting scenes from the play in school and we hope to build on this enthusiasm through the use of drama. During the workshop, the children will investigate and re-enact a number of landmark moments in the play, Macbeth, such as: the Final Battle with Norway, the first encounter with the Weird Sisters, the Death of Duncan, the Ghost at the Feast, the Fate of Lady Macbeth and Macbeth’s Last Stand. During the workshop, the children will be given the opportunity to dress-up as characters from the play, analyse the play from an actor’s point of view along with exploring the text in greater depth.

The cost visit will be £8 per child and this will need to be covered by a ‘voluntary contribution’. Under the terms of the Governors’ Policy on charging, if the full costs are not met by ‘voluntary contributions’ from parents, the visit may have to be cancelled.   Please return the form and money to a member of the Year 6 team by Monday 2nd October. If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium, then the school will pay £8 in line with the government’s policy on pupil premium.

Should you have any questions regarding the proposed visit please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Yours sincerely

    Year 6 Team
