    11/10/2017 -

    Thursday 21st September 2017

    Dear Parents

    Introductory Meeting – Wednesday 11th October 2017

Residential Educational Visit to Mill Rythe, Hayling Island – 18th – 22nd June 2018

As you will be aware, Year 6 undertake a residential trip in the summer term, after they have taken their SATs.  This is an incredible opportunity for them to partake in a wide range of exciting, challenging and extremely rewarding activities.  These include fencing, abseiling and kayaking, as well as team-building activities such as raft building and buggy building.

This meeting will be an opportunity to come and find out what the trip entails. Nearer the time we will be holding another meeting, where more specific information will be given regarding clothing requirements and travel arrangements. If you wish to look at the website, the address is

The anticipated cost of the trip will be approximately £340 though this may alter depending on the number of children who come.  The years when all the children have attended have been special. It is hoped that no child will miss out because of financial difficulties; we are sometimes able to help low-income families meet the cost.  Please speak to one of the Year 6 team or Mrs Cole if you have any concerns regarding this aspect of the trip before Friday 20th October.  If your child is in receipt of free school meals, then the school will pay the cost in line with the government’s policy on pupil premium. Once the deposit has been paid, a saving card will be issued to you. Payments can be made as a one off payment or in instalments, should you wish to do so.

To secure a place for your child we need to be in receipt of a deposit (non-returnable) of £50.00 by the end of this half term, Friday 20th October 2017.  Please return your cheques (payable to ‘Owlsmoor Primary School’ with your cheque card number on the back please) or cash with the form.  If providing the full deposit by Friday 20th presents a problem, please let us know.

Parents and children should be aware that we reserve the right not to take an individual child where it is clear that they lack the maturity and self-discipline to be a responsible member of the party.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please do not hesitate to speak to one of us.

    Yours sincerely,

    Year 6 Team
