    30/09/2016 -

    Dear Parents,

Harvest time is here again. As we reflect at school on the food that we eat, where it comes from and the people who provide it, we would like to encourage the children to be generous to those who have less than they do. We will be making a collection in school for the Bracknell Foodbank (part of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks) in order to replenish their supplies as we head into the cold, winter months. Bracknell Foodbank describes itself as:

‘…part of a national network of foodbanks, giving out nutritionally balanced emergency food to people in crisis who have nowhere else to turn.
From time to time Bracknell Foodbank receives surplus stock of particular items. Rather than allowing these to go to waste, we may pass them on to other local projects or to another Trussell Trust Foodbank.
We also offer additional support to help break the cycle of poverty, putting people in touch with relevant agencies who can offer further support.’

If you feel able to support the school in our donation then the foodbank currently has shortages of:

    • Sponge pudding
    • (Long life) fruit juice
    • Biscuits
    • Pasta sauce
    • Tinned vegetables
    • 500g bags of sugar

As the foodbank stores food they cannot keep perishable items so their normal list of requested items is:

    • Milk (UHT)
    • Breakfast Cereal
    • Tinned soup
    • Fruit juice (Long life)
    • Pasta (500g)
    • Pasta sauces
    • Rice/sponge pudding (tinned)
    • Tomatoes (tinned)

    • Rice (500g)
    • Tinned vegetables
    • Tea bags
    • Instant mash/Tinned potato
    • Tinned Meat/Fish
    • Tinned Fruit
    • Sugar (500g)
    • Baked beans
    • Biscuits and cereal bar

Donations can be dropped off at the school office or classrooms any day next week, thank you in advance for your generosity.

    Yours Sincerely,

     Mr Forsaith
